Darwin Ready to Select Music Talent from Schools for Major Festival

The Northern Territory is looking forward to hosting the Battle of the Bands in the ambition to find a talented local band to perform in the 2010 BASSINTHEGRASS.

Northern Territory's Chief Minister Paul Henderson said the competition will be held by the Education Department to find a talented school band for the festival: "I think we have amazing talent amoung our school kids her in the Territory," he told the Northern Territory News.

The Chief Minister announced yesterday that acclaimed bands in next year's festival include The Living End, Sneaky Sound System, Gabriella Cilmi and The Cat Empire.

The BASSINTHEGRASS festival is held at the Darwin Ampitheatre and includes a 37 square metre giant screen along with shade area and food stalls.
