Darwin's Arafura Games

At the Arafura Games in Darwin today, the gold medal Women's Triathlon event went to Macau's Long Hoi with silver taken by Tasmanian Sophie Hawkins and bronze going to Jody Backer of the Australian Defence Force.
The Arafura Games in Darwin began on 9 May and continues through until 17 May.
A leading international sporting competition for upcoming champions in the Asia-Pacific and further abroad, Arafura Games has been held every two years in Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territory since its beginning in 2001.
From 2007, the Arafura Games has also included Oceania Paralympic Championships and will again host this event in 2009.
This year, the Arafura Games will also include Darts and Muaythai as part of its 27 sporting disciplines.
