Darwin Airport

Darwin International Airport is owned by the Airport Development Group, operated by Northern Territory Airports Pty Ltd. One of three airports in the Northern Territory, Darwin International Airport services the most people in the region.

Located in the suburb of Mararra, 13km from Darwin's centre, the airport began as RAAF Base Darwin in 1940. In 1945 it incorporated civil operations and was founded as Darwin International Airport.

Darwin International Airport can supply you with car rental, which you can pre-book or book on arrival at the airport. It has a shuttle bus that travels to and from the airport, and also to other locations on request.

Taxis are available from Darwin International Airport's terminal and you can expect to pay about $30 to get into Darwin's CBD. Northern Territory's main airport has an international terminal, domestic terminal and a cargo terminal and is a joint user with the Royal Australian Air Force and RAAF Base Darwin.

Darwin International Airport has serviced 170,000 international passengers and 1.3 million domestic and regional passengers in 2007-08.
